Allow (or require) users to provide additional details on sign up

It would be very helpful to me as an admin if I knew the people's organization once they sign up. Most people are not going to the next step.

We designed the sign up for with the idea in mind that people do not like to spend much time to register. That's why we only ask for absolutely required details, such as name, email, and password. By the way, when users sign up via social authentication (such as Twitter or Facebook), these auth providers do not provide such detail as user's organization.

You need to know the organization of every user, who signs up. Is that right?

Possibly some fields could be added to the sign up form as an option. Or we could ask people to fill those details after sign up.

Thank you for your reply. FB and other social media are designed for B2C and we are 100% B2B so it is not uncommon for visitors to provide institution name. This helps us track people with the same name and also helps us identify if the visitor is real or not.

Fileds as options works great for me.
