I am already using this. It is great feature. Thank you.
We have added this feature. Now you can change publication date in admin panel.
Updates section is showing created date instead of last edited date. So it looks like updates are always old. :)

Thank you for your suggestion. We're thinking that the best way to do this would be by adding a checkbox saying "Update the publication date" next to the Save button. It should be unchecked by default. When you're saving a KB article or Update post, you can mark the checkbox and in that case publication date will be reset to the current date. If you leave it unchecked the publication date won't change.
